Tracking the legend from Bangkok to the PH... and straight to my workbench. 🤯⚡️
Let’s take a trip down rare plant history lane. Back at the 2024 Bangkok International Exotic Plants Show, the botanical world stood still when a highly coveted Monstera “Devil Monster” (affectionately dubbed the “Circuit Board”) smashed records, auctioning for a jaw-dropping $39,000 (roughly PHP 2.3 million).
From there, the rarest specimens landed straight in the Philippines, acquired by elite private collectors and powerhouse nurseries like Philoverde.
Fast forward to today, and I am holding that exact iconic lineage right here. Look at the insane, feathery mint marbling and that razor-sharp structure. This isn’t just a plant; it’s a piece of modern botanical history.

The countdown is on! We can’t wait to see you all this Saturday for an afternoon of rare plants, good food, great companion, and bingo. 🥳

Here is everything you need to know to prepare:
🎒 What to Bring & Expect
Check-In: Arrive promptly at 10:45 AM. 🕒 for admission and lunch. If admission to bingo plan to be there 11:45AM. Show your receipt or ID to receive your assigned band.
Daubers: Bring your own, or buy one at the door for $1.
BYO Leaf Swap (Optional): Bring a healthy, pest-free plant, cutting, or leaf to trade (value under $45).
Bingo Ala Carte: Extra bingo cards and items will be available for purchase at the event.

Scindapsus “White Monster” | If you’re lucky enough to have this gorgeous, slow-growing unicorn in your collection, you already know it can be a little dramatic. Those stunning white marbled leaves lack chlorophyll, meaning they need extra love to stay pristine.
Save this post for your next watering day! 💾
How to keep a White Monster thriving:
☀️ LIGHT: Bright, indirect light is non-negotiable. Too dark and it will revert to green; too bright/direct and those delicate white leaves will burn instantly.
🧪 SUBSTRATE: Skip the standard potting soil. It needs a highly chunky, fast-draining mineral or aroid mix (think orchid bark, perlite, and pumice) to protect its sensitive roots.
💧 WATER: Let the mix dry out 50–75% of the way down before watering thoroughly. When the leaves curl slightly inward, it’s telling you it’s thirsty.
🌡️ HUMIDITY: Keep it high! Aim for 60%+ humidity to prevent the white variegation from crisping up and turning brown at the edges.
🪵 Give it a moss pole! While it can trail, letting it climb scales up the leaf size much faster.

Monstera Deliciosa Form 6 |There’s nothing like watching a rare Monstera form mature, but the debate is always real. If you’re looking at standard deliciosa next to a true Brazilian Form 6, the telltale signs are all in the architecture.
Look at that bottom leaf:
🌿 Lanceolate, narrow shape (no wide heart-shaped base here)
🌿 Deeply skeletonized, wide-set sinuses reaching for the midrib
🌿 Perfectly spaced, oval inner fenestrations hugging the center vein

Scindapsus Mayari isn’t just rare—it holds the ultimate crown as the only officially registered cultivar of its genus. Named after the Philippine Goddess of the Moon, Night, and Beauty, it’s easy to see how she earned the title. The high-contrast minty variegation cuts through the dark leaf like bright moonlight in the night sky. 🌙✨. There is nothing quite like watching a new leaf “burn in” its color. 😮‍💨✨
Check out the contrast on this Monstera! On one side, we have an established 5” medium leaf showing off that flawless half-moon variegation and marble detailing. Rooted in Dahon Root Vive! Look at the roots since imported 04/11/2026.
Then we have the newest leaf—currently sitting at a cute 2” and pushing out its variegation slowly as it matures and hardens off. Watching those ghost-like patterns slowly sharpen and deepen in color is easily one of the best parts of growing rare aroids. 🌗🌿
