Good morning! Our Zinnia sale is going from 9 till noon today. We're down to 5 purple Zinnias already (a few early gardeners stopped by -apparently purple is a popular color!). A good selection of Deep Red, White, and Salmon Rose left to choose from. They are all already 2-3' tall in the trade gallon pot for $8.

In other annuals there is also the milkweed tree (Calotropis procera), Reien celosia, Tithonia (only 3 left!), Borage (4 left), Chocolate Cherry sunflower, Mahogany Splendor hibiscus, Pot Marigolds Calendula officinalis), and Mammoth Dill.

And of course lots of native perennials and native milkweed. ๐Ÿ™‚

One of my favorite times of day is watering in the morning when the birds are singing as the sun shines through the trees and the fresh cool breeze stirs the leaves gently.

Fun fact: it takes about 1-1/2 to 2 hours to water every morning! Come summer watering increases to twice a day (at least when it hasn't rained). Potted plants dry out a lot faster and the relatively small amount of dirt cannot hold enough water to support many plants all day in the brutal heat (except a few like common rue - it loves hot and dry!).

Our spring sale is coming up! https://fb.me/e/4C8GWUedR

Native perennials: hardy, long lived..but terrible pot plants ๐Ÿ˜‚

Baptisia put a lot of energy into an established root system and can have a lifespan lasting decades! This one is happy in it's new temporary home pot (for now). We've been busy with lots of plants stuff (like potting up plants that need bigger pots) but be on the lookout for our annual spring plant sale announcement coming soon!
