It’s happening!! 😊

The weather is looking great for Friday night.

The movie title has been posted in the Riddle Hill Movie Nights group for anyone interested.

We’re also kicking off our new Friday Night Mini-Market at 7:00 pm. If you’d like to set up to sell, do a demonstration, share information about your business, or simply let the community know you exist, we’d love to have you join us.

While this event is hosted by Riddle Hill Homestead and supported by Let’s Grow Grafton, vendors from both Grafton and surrounding towns are welcome.

There is no fee to set up.

If you’re interested in joining us this Friday, send me a message and I’ll get you the details.

It's such a dreary, rainy day...you know what cheers me up on mornings like this? Freshly baked Brothers Donuts and Riddle Hill Homestead cookies - luckily, we have plenty of both today!

The shop is open, donuts are out, and the first batches of cookies are just coming out of the oven now and will be outside shortly!

This is honestly my favorite event of the year! This will be my third year in the parade, and I’m already planning a bigger and better float than the last two.

Last year’s float was pretty epic. We had tulle fire coming out of the oven, flour and candy flying everywhere, and bright pink fire extinguishers. Can I top it this year? We’ll see.

Jim usually drives while I throw candy and wave at people, and Frodo absolutely LOVES the attention with his head hanging out the passenger window. He is fully convinced the entire parade exists just so people can cheer for him.

I would LOVE to see more floats out there this year. If you’ve never participated before, I can tell you it’s one of the most fun events we have in town. By the end of the parade, my cheeks hurt from smiling and my stomach hurts from laughing.

This year, there are prizes on the line, too!

Michelle and Lynn attended the Recreation Committee meeting last week to talk about this year’s parade and the upcoming Grafton Games!

We’d love to see the parade feel BIG this year. More floats, tractors, decorated vehicles, walkers, costumes, kids on bikes, and hometown creativity.

You absolutely do not need a fancy float. Homemade, silly, simple, and creative entries are all welcome.

There will also be prizes this year for Best Float and other categories!

The PB&J cookies are back, and somehow they got even better 😄

These giant oversized peanut butter cookies are packed with chopped peanuts and Reese’s peanut butter chips, but now they’re also stuffed with LOCAL jam centers from 4 Little Bees Baked Goods & Other Things right here in Grafton.

This week’s flavors are:
🍓 Strawberry Rhubarb
🍑 Raspberry Peach

The jam baked into the middle might just be the best part. Warm peanut butter cookie with that soft, sweet jam center is hard to beat.

They’re in the oven right now and should be coming out to the shop around 9am!

I grabbed these jams from Carissa Lazar’s stand at 315 Prescott Hill Rd in Grafton, and now I’m sitting here wondering why I waited this long to start baking with local jams.

Be sure to follow 4 Little Bees Baked Goods and Other Things and stop by her stand to grab a jar or two for yourself because these are SO good.

We had our first movie night of the season last night! It was definitely a little chilly, but not too cold to laugh through a movie and spend an evening outside with neighbors under the stars 😊

These free community movie nights will be happening throughout the summer, and we hope you’ll join us sometime!

It’s only 7:30 in the morning, Mister the rooster has been yelling at us for hours already, and we’ve been baking since before most people found the coffee pot.

We’ve already gone through an entire bowlful of eggs this morning and the first trays of cookies are finally starting to come out of the oven. The whole house smells like warm brown sugar and chocolate chips right now, and after these chilly mornings, the oven heat actually makes the kitchen feel pretty cozy again.

We’re stocking up and baking like crazy to get ready for Ruggles Mine opening weekend. If you’re heading up to dig for rocks this weekend, swing by and grab cookies on your way through Grafton 🍪⛏️
