There are no words that can truly express how hard it is to say goodbye to a dear friend who has been such a big part of lives. But it is with deep sadness we have to say goodbye to our friend and fellow gardener Warren Wienecke.

Warren passed away Thursday, June 8th after a long and tiring battle. He fought the good fight and finished the race and now the Lord has called him home.

We will miss you Warren. And even though we have to say goodbye for now; it will be a glorious and happy day when we see you again!!!!

Today was a busy day at the garden. The garden was honored with a new peach tree provided by Kevin, Michael and Kayla Boley. And a Butterfly Garden was created in front of the community garden sign. Our Master Gardener, Warren Wienecke, instructed and supervised while Michael, Kevin, Kayla and many friends and gardeners helped prepare the area and plant the new tree! Removing bermuda grass is definitely hard work ! And many thanks go out to everyone who worked so hard on the Butterfly Garden. It's beautiful !! We love it.
Thank you to the Boley Family and Thanks to Everyone !!

It is both a sad and joyful day today.

It is with sadness that I say we have lost a very special person in our gardening family. Paul Moreno lost his battle with cancer on Thursday, August 18th and was laid to rest today. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and so many others whose lives he touched. This fact was evident at his service today.

It is also with great joy, though, that I can say he has gone to be with his LORD. He will have no more pain or worry as he patiently waits for his family and friends to join him. Only unspeakable joy and peace!

We're not saying Good-Bye Paul, just see you later.......We will carry on the torch and "Keep the Faith" and we will see you again !!

Thanks to Volunteers and Gardeners we had another successful workday at the Community Garden this past Saturday. Volunteers who found us through the North Texas Food Bank worked hard in the compost area building and turning compost. Others harvested for donations to the food pantry and helped plant several fall vegetable beds. Thanks to all!

Please welcome new gardeners - Karina, Jose, Vicenta, Elizabeth and of course little Francisco. They are off to a great start on their garden beds and brought goodies to share with everyone at the garden. What a treat!

Many thanks to our gardeners Warren, Paul, Rick, Wendell, Nancy & Vida for your hard work and support in the garden this Saturday. We appreciate all you do !

Saturday was a great Volunteer day at the Community Garden! We had 10 volunteers and 3 new gardeners, as well as support and guidance from 5 of our current gardeners. The volunteers harvested vegetables, prepared and planted beds and watered fruit trees. We want to thank all the volunteers & gardeners for their participation and hard work. We also want to thank the Keep Grand Prairie Beautiful Crew for their brush and rubbish clean-up efforts. Thanks so much to everyone!
