Memorial Day is a solemn occasion to pay tribute to the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. This is why many individuals refrain from using the phrase 'Happy Memorial Day,' as it may come across as insensitive to families who have endured loss, sacrifice, and bereavement. Today, we pay our respects to those who did not return home.
For years, and especially since the age of social media, people all over the country have either not known or confused the meaning of both Veterans Day and Memorial Day.
