Well, we knew the tears would be coming eventually! 🥺 We just received the sweetest hand-drawn note from one of our wonderful customers — a heartfelt thanks to our entire Grass Roots team, complete with an adorable little drawing of Pumpkin and Spice:

Evidently 50% wasn’t enough, these THIEVES wanted 100% OFF! We’re already taking a loss with our latest sale here at the nursery, so it’s really discouraging when folks feel the need to destroy a plant just to steal a piece of it. For those of you who know me, you know I would gladly share cuttings with fellow plant nerds. This type of behavior makes me lose faith in the human race. Help us give these idiots the attention they deserve, please share this and let the internet do the rest. At least shes already wearing stripes! 😂 Thanks!!

👉 Fountains are available on a first come, first served basis -- no holds or presales
👉 Cash and carry please - items must be taken when they're purchased
👉 Delivery will NOT be available for fountains during the sale
💪 Please plan ahead and bring several strong friends to help you load your fountain! These pieces are extremely heavy, and due to the busy nature of the sale our team members will be not be able to assist with fountain loading.

🌿 A Heartfelt Message from Grass Roots Garden Center 🌿

To our loyal friends, customers, and community:

After five wonderful years of growing, learning, and sharing in the beauty of plants with all of you, we have decided to close Grass Roots Garden Center on November 30th.

This decision did not come easily. Grass Roots has been so much more than a business — it’s been a dream, a gathering place, and a living, breathing expression of what can happen when people come together to nurture something special. From the very beginning, our goal was simple: to bring joy and beauty to our community, one plant at a time.

Over the years, we’ve met countless amazing people — gardeners, homeowners, families, and friends — who helped shape Grass Roots into one of the most beautiful and loved garden centers in the area. To each of you who has walked our paths, asked questions, planted our trees, or shared your growing stories with us: thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

As we look to the future, we’re excited to share that the Grass Roots property will be transitioning into a new commercial operation that will support the continued growth of one of our other companies. This next step allows us to keep growing — just in a different direction — while honoring the foundation Grass Roots has given us.

Before we say goodbye, we want to celebrate this incredible journey with you. Throughout the month of November, we’ll be hosting a Grand Farewell Sale — 50% off everything in the store, greenhouses, and nursery. The sale will begin at 9AM on Saturday November 1 and will last until the doors close on November 30. It’s our way of saying thank you, of giving back to those who have supported us, and of letting the plants you’ve loved find new homes in your gardens and hearts.

Our favorite fall plants are going fast, and this one is no exception. We LOVE Celosia! The feathery, long-lasting blooms come in fiery shades of red, orange, magenta, and gold — perfect for fall color themes. Celosia does great here in the south, because it actually thrives in the lingering warmth of early fall -- so it's a perfect transitional plant. And the pollinators love it!
