Feeling for all my flower (and veggie growing) farming friends right now... this, plus temps in the 20’s tonight! Farming is hard work anyway... but throw in the weather challenges and it is, well... let me just say... love on your local farmers! They do all this to bring you the freshest, most lovely flowers and veggies! And it is totally worth it!
Here are just a few in the greater Granville area:
Check them out and support them! ❤️

It has been such a blessing to serve our community these past 3 years! And we have learned so much about growing flowers, making friends, and working hard in the dirt. ❤️
Thank you for all your love, kind words, and support!! We will miss you all!
If you are interested, our home (and the garden area 😉😉) will be going on the market this Friday! We have loved our farmhouse, chickens, bees, and gardens... maybe it’s just what you have been looking for!

They are online now in our shop. Delivery (in Licking County) available this Friday or Saturday, or pick up on Saturday. These will be growing for a few more weeks and then expect blooms in 4-6 weeks. The daffodils are a little slower.
Happy Monday! ❤️

I have been seeing my other local flower farmer friends sharing cheerful photos of summer flowers. And I wanted to join in! Ohio can be pretty gray all winter, so here’s a little sunshine to brighten your IG feed ☀️

We have dahlia tubers for sale this year! They are tucked away and will be ready for pick up in March, but... now is the time to buy them! They would make a great Christmas gift, let someone know they have beautiful summer blooms to look forward to! We have a limited supply, and they are all in our updated website.
*We are not licensed to ship them, so these are for pick up only.
Fall garden prep has been pretty enjoyable in these sunny warm days we have been having!
900 tulips & 100 daffodils are in the ground and waiting for spring. And 100+ dahlias have been dug up & ready to be divided!

Some insects that are in the flowers right now...
what type of moth is in the first photo?
One of our honey bees in the second.
Annnnd the third is a photo of the cucumber beetle. 😫 they are the reason I put organza bags on many of my blooms. To keep the from getting chomped up by them.

Today was the day to harvest the sunflower heads... I left the stalks and small secondary sunflowers that are still blooming.
We are drying out the heads to use for the birds! Anyone interested?

the beginning of something beautiful
i have always loved being creative. i just can’t help it. lots of colors, new techniques, learning new skills. i am not leaving all my curiosity and love of learning various crafts behind, but i am moving forward with a new and exciting dream. a dream full of wonder and beauty. this year will be the first year of ... old truck flower farm!
so far we (my sweet husband has willingly joined me in so much of this adventure) have put in many hours of hands on work from starting flower seedlings in the basement to working in the field. it is a new start, so we are doing almost 100% of the work by hand. we are learning as we go, and learning where we want to find new ways of working better (not harder) next year. but, as little green leaves start to shoot up from the earth, the excitement is growing.
because all the flowers growing in the field were started here in Granville and because our winter/spring was so wet and cold... our flowers won’t be ready until the middle/end of june. we will be selling bouquets and single flowers at the Pataskala Farmer’s Market on friday evenings throughout the summer beginning on june 26th from 4-7pm. and out of the old truck at various locations as well!
please follow our journey as we work hard to bring you sunshine in the form of flowers! can’t wait to share the beauty this summer!
