We are trying something new this year… nativars! What is a “nativar”, you ask? Well nativ-ar is a newly formed, non scientific, mash up word to help describe cultivars (or plants specifically cultivated for their unique characteristics) of native plants. This year we are trying two nativars, a beautiful and unique ground cover aster Symphyotrichum ericoides Snow Flurry and the stunning white Ice Ballet Swamp Milkweed (Asclepias incarnata). These are plugs sourced from izel.nativeplants, a great source for your bulk native plant orders.

Selling these Sat May 30 10-2. Then by online order and pickup after that.

Did you know we have a cactus that is native to the northeast? Although its native range does not extent up to Maine, Eastern Prickly Pear Cactus (Opuntia humifusa) can be found as far north as CT MA and RI. Mostly it’s just a fun talking piece for the native garden or in a pot on the deck. These we grew from seed and are
starting to look like little cacti!
