Moses Drilling Company At Moses Drilling Company, LLC, we are a family owned and operated business. We started humbly in 1987 as a drilling contractor.

In 1993, we also became a loop and piping contractor. Today, we operate 3 drilling rigs for both residential and commercial projects while being Kentucky Water Well Certified, IGSHPA Certified, NATE Certified, a WaterFurnace GSC and hold other various certificates for schools and trainings attended. We specialize in residential and small commercial work. Our residential work consists of drilling a

pproximately 200 homes plus per year…way to many to list individually. We also drill several small commercial projects with fewer than 100 boreholes. Several of our larger residential homes have consisted of between 15 and 35 tons of HVAC. We have expanded our drilling to include larger commercial projects of up to 300 or more bore holes as we have the equipment to do so. Our normal drilling depth for residential work is between 150′ – 200′. We generally use 3/4″ PE material down the boreholes. The commercial drilling has been in the 300′ depth using 1″ PE material down the boreholes. Well over 90% of our drilling workload is geothermal drilling. Additionally, we also drill many water wells each year as well. Presently, we operate 3 tophead air rotary drilling rigs manufactured by Schramm, Inc.

Our rigs are used to drill in mostly consolidated material and hard rock. We also have grouting trailers for commercial and residential grouting applications, flush carts for both commercial and residential use, conductivity testing equipment, and many support trucks, trailers, and other miscellaneous equipment. Although we don’t install units and do duct work, we do hook up to several different brands of equipment, including: WaterFurnace, Florida Heat Pump, Carrier, Climate Master, Bryant, Trane, Bosch, Mammoth and Bard along with many others. Doing some grounding wells for one of the KU substations in Louisville. Basically, we drilled down and then Doss & Horky installed a copper wire in the hole and then we grouted the hole with a bentonite grout. Then Doss & Horky tested the grounding and hooked the cable into the grounding system for the site.

A little funny for your day - How to not install a water well!!!

We recently drilled a water well and had some great results! The well ended up producing about 40 gpm! The owner was very happy! It is very rewarding when you have great results. Please contact us if you are in need of a water well and we will be happy to assist you in any way we can.

While drilling, you may occasionally hit natural gas. Usually, it is just small pockets and they blow out rather quickly...

While drilling, you may occasionally hit natural gas. Usually, it is just small pockets and they blow out rather quickly, however, sometimes they are larger pockets that may last a few days. When we have the latter happen, we have a piece of steel pipe we drive in the ground with a ball valve and short ni**le that we can actually ignite the gas and let it burn to get rid of the gas in a safe manner as well as to keep the scent of the gas from making people working around the gas from getting nauseous. In this picture we have a piece of metal roofing leaned up against the ni**le to keep the wind from blowing out our flame.
