A small, soft opening with a few Dahlia tuber varieties for sale, and some free seeds!

It was supposed to be just a cleaning day, but I had some tubers ready to go!
About a dozen varieties out now, and another dozen will be ready soon. I will be digging up another 15-20 over the next couple weeks 🙌

Our first official day in the garden this year 🥳

We got all the dahlia beds uncovered, tubers out of storage, and planted!
The tubers we plan to sell look amazing. Tons of sprouts and roots already!
And 17 new dahlia varieties planted today as well 🙌 🤪

It felt so nice to finally get back into the dirt. We're very excited for this season!!

The flowerstand should be open in the next couple weeks. Keep your eyes peeled for tubers and plant starts for sale (and maybe even a few springtime bouquets🤞💐)!!

That's a wrap on the Dahlias for us this year! 🙌
We could have let them keep blooming until the end of October, but the rain is coming and we have lots to do to tuck in the garden.
We are trying something new this year and digging up our tubers 😳
They desperately need to be separated and we are also going to transfer all of them into garden bags instead of growing them in the ground. This is for a couple of reasons.
1. To easily move the bags around if a certain dahlia needs more light.
2. We have so many varieties, and not too much ground to dig in, so this will allow us to move them to different areas in the garden.
3. To prevent the spread of disease. Some diseases can spread through soil, watering and tools. So this will help prevent 2 out of three ways of transfer. To ensure our tools are clean, we sanitize our snippers after cutting each plant. 😉✂️
I only got about 10% of tuber transfer done today, but "slow progress is still progress" right?! 😅

We will be storing extra tubers over winter for sale in the Spring, so stay tuned!!!
