Asparagus crowns are in stores now! Pick from Purple Passion, Mary Washington and Jersey Giant varieties. We also have Victoria Rhubarb crowns and yellow and red spring onion starts.

We recommend Organic Bone Meal to help develop strong roots for these fun-to-grow (and delicious!) garden gems. While spring onions are a this-season project, your asparagus crowns and rhubarb will produce for many years to come if they get off to a good start. Ask for more tips in-store!

Healthy soil = a healthy garden! If you haven’t yet, there's still time to amend your garden beds.

Happy Frog Soil Conditioner is a great product for this job and is chock full of forest hummus, bat guano, earthworm castings and beneficial microbes and mycorrhizae to facilitate nutrient uptake.

Alternatively, a good organic compost, purchased or made yourself, will serve a similar purpose. Both Soil Conditioners and compost will benefit your raised beds, flower beds, perennials and just about anything you’ve got in the ground! Visit us to learn more.

Have you tucked in your garden lately? Getting a jump on your Spring garden is a great idea, but remember our last average frost date is mid-April. When temps are predicted to fall, the best course of action is a frost row cover. They are easy to put into place and remove when temperatures are above freezing, like during the day. They are reusable for many seasons, and available in multiple sizes so you get the right fit to protect your garden. Visit us to shop our full selection.
