Bringing fresh fruit to market in the dead of winter is not an easy or cheap proposition. Especially if you insist on sampling the product yourself, onsite, at the groves. In Florida.
Yes, I’m talking about Fruittickler. And it’s time for round two of winter citrus.
Every year they make the journey to Florida to bring back fresh honey belles, tangerines and grapefruit. Oh my, just typing “grapefruit” makes me salivate! (especially since I’ve refused to eat any grapefruit other than these for years now.) The fruit they deliver is truly extraordinary. Last year a young man was first in line for Honey Belles, saying that his mother always talked about these elusive oranges and swooned over their taste. He wanted to surprise her.
This year the cost of renting a cooler truck or trailer has skyrocketed. Aamal and Vincent need a bit more than they’d budgeted to make this highly anticipated fruit run. In order to raise the funds needed up front, they’ll be offering gift certificates this Saturday to raise funds prior to the trip. The vouchers, available in either $20 or $50 increments, can be given as gifts or you can use them yourself to purchase any fresh fruit from Fruittickler, with no expiration date.
So if you love top notch fruit and appreciate the lengths Aamal and Vincent go to personally pick the best, freshest fruit available, invest a little seed money their way and the returns will be delicious!
