This has been such a fun process. The green continues to fill in and is being mowed twice a day. Maintaining 1/10” turf is time consuming and not for everyone! I have to say though, putting everyday is worth the work.

"Spring Lawn Plan and Condition. What Should I do First?!" - Lawncology on YouTube (7:47 min) (Mar 21, 2022) at https://youtu.be/Isl2lNaO0MQ

Spring is here but it's not quite time to get out on the lawn. I've still got quite a bit of snow to deal with, but the grass is showing all over the place. The few things that are covered up in this video are, snow mold, first fertilization of the spring and the need for lawn leveling, I definitely have a bumpy lawn that has to be dealt with. Along with that, there are still quite a few projects that were not completed in 2021, I have some more soil to bring in, some more top dressing on the golf green, and definitely some more spring seeding that will need to happen.

As soon as I can, or at least as soon as the temperatures allow, I will be going out with 26–0 –0 GreeneCharge and N-Ext RGS. After that the weekly greens feeding will be taking place to get this thing playable. . .

"Home Green 6 week update" - Lawncology on YouTube (13:07min) at https://youtu.be/A4UzbOx6faI

Coming to the end. This is the final fertilizer application of the season, a quick view of what is happening with the golf green, where it is and where it needs to be.

The bent grass is doing its thing but it is going dormant. I am putting 1/2 lb N per K on the turf to close out and i will do one fungicide app, dormant seed and a peat moss top dressing before snow permanently blankets the ground.

Scalp marks are plentiful here and I am mowing a little longer currently at 1/4" HOC. The Hudson makes for easy height adjustments. I have been scraping and filling low and high spots to get the surface as uniform as possible. I feel pretty good on where the turf is only 5 weeks post germination and I'd say that the premature and regular use has likely been a setback.

With the irrigation off for the season, I am spot watering with a manual sprinkler as long as the weather allows.

I love that even though it's no where near grown in, it is providing a space for everyone in the house to enjoy. Look out people, this family will be deadly on the greens.

For those out there considering a playing surface, keep in mid that its a daily operation. you will need to have right equipment and time to be on it. I am looking forward to next summer as it will be full and thick and beautiful by the time the heat come in.
