🌿 Want a big, tropical-looking statement plant in your landscape?

You’ve probably seen bananas in other people’s yards and figured they must replant them every year…
because surely bananas can’t survive our Midwest winters, right? 🍌❄️

Surprisingly, this hardy banana (Musa basjoo, also called Japanese Fiber Banana) can!
With just a thick layer of mulch, it comes back bigger and better every year. 💪

This clump has been in the ground for 3 years now — and even after dividing it 1–2 times a year for propagation, it keeps growing stronger.

🌱 Tough. Dramatic. Low-maintenance.
Perfect for adding that “tropical jungle” feel right here in Indiana.

📍 We just sold out of them at Plants of Purpose, working on propagations this week — message us to reserve one for the spring!

We still have plenty of other hardy perrenials in stock. Like pineberries (white strawberries, cold-hardy elephant ears, blackberries and many more).

Finally putting out the San Pedro and Bolivian Torch cacti. A fast growing subtropical column cactus.
