is your plant secretly asking for more light?? ☀️
1. newer growth is elongated or bare: typically a plant that’s searching for more light will stretch toward the nearest source. this can results in long stems with larger gaps between leaves
2. newer leaves are getting smaller over time: typically plants need energy from light to produce healthy growth. if newer leaves are noticeably smaller than older ones, low light may be limiting that energy
3. the soil stays wet for long periods: plants use less water when they’re not actively growing. if your soil seems to stay damp forever, your plant may not be getting enough light to support normal water usage
4. it’s taking forever to put out new growth:
while some plants are naturally slow growers, a healthy plant in its active growing season should definitely be showing some progress. if growth has stalled, lighting is one of the first things to evaluate!
