One of our favorite organizing principles is creating space to grow.

The reality is that things will continue to come into your home. New purchases, seasonal items, replacements, and extras are all part of everyday life. That's why we don't believe every shelf needs to be filled.

In this storage cabinet, we used two simple organizing strategies:
✔️ ABC Storage – Store the items you use most often at eye level, with less frequently used items higher or lower.
✔️ Space to Grow – Leave intentional open space so new items already have a home when they arrive.

Organization isn't about filling every inch of storage. It's about creating systems that work today and continue working tomorrow.

This before and after is a great reminder that even the best organizing systems need a refresh from time to time. As kids grow and new toys find their way home, it's completely normal for a once-organized space to need a reset.

That's exactly what we did here. Restored the system, refreshed the space, and made it easy for this family to enjoy their playroom again.

It’s where breakfast begins, lunch gets packed, dinner comes together, and snacks disappear. Because food is constantly coming and going, even the most organized pantry can quickly become overwhelming without the right system.

This transformation wasn’t just about creating a beautiful pantry but rather a system that makes everyday life easier. With designated zones and a place for everything, this family can easily find what they need and keep the space functioning long after we’re gone.

We also cleared empty spaces for things that come straight from the store so they can just be added to the system later on. This creates an easy drop zone so that it doesn’t end up scattered everywhere.

A well-organized pantry doesn’t just look good. It helps your whole kitchen run more smoothly.
