💧 Why Is Calcium Hardness Important in Your Pool? 💧

Calcium hardness measures the amount of dissolved calcium in your pool water, and maintaining the proper level is an important part of protecting both your pool and your equipment.

When calcium hardness is too low, the water becomes aggressive and will try to pull calcium from plaster, grout, concrete, and even metal components. This can lead to surface damage, staining, and premature equipment wear.

When calcium hardness is too high, excess calcium can come out of solution and form scale deposits on pool surfaces, heaters, salt cells, and plumbing. Scale buildup can reduce efficiency and lead to costly repairs.

For most pools, calcium hardness should typically be maintained between 200-400 ppm, though ideal levels can vary depending on your pool type.

Our 2026 Pool School season has officially wrapped up! Thank you to everyone who joined us in Greenwood on May 20th and Franklin on June 3rd.

Pool School is a free event we host each year to help pool owners learn more about caring for their pools, and we even provide dinner for all attendees. If you missed us this year, we hope you'll join us next season!

A special shout-out to Brett for teaching Pool School the last two years and going above and beyond to help educate our customers. We appreciate the time, effort, and knowledge he shares with our pool community.
