We’re hiring!

Our mulch & pinestraw yard is looking for a Yard & Delivery Associate to join our team.

This job is perfect for someone who likes to work outdoors, stay busy, and take initiative. Duties include:
🚜 Loading mulch & pinestraw (tractor experience a plus!)
📞 Taking customer orders & answering phones
🚚 Delivering mulch/pinestraw as needed
🔧 Light equipment maintenance (blowers, trimmers, mowers)
🧹 General shop/yard cleanup

Bilingual is a plus (not required). Full-time hours, pay based on experience.

The color contrast is spectacular with a fresh coat of new walnut cypress mulch.

Although we may be almost to the middle of winter, we can see the beauty of the color contrast of a fresh layer of mulch against the structures, layout and plants of the gardens at the Vidant Hospice House. This is our dyed-cypress mulch in the walnut color. It’s a darker mulch that provides the backdrop for the showy plants. The gold chamaecyparis, the green Hollies, the dormant trees, the red and yellow twigged dogwoods, and even the structures of the pergola, gazebo, pavilion, tables and bridge are contrasted very well with this color mulch.

The initial beauty is one thing, but the real value is the protection of the plants. Below the surface are some 10,000 flower bulbs that are beginning to surface. The mulch will help protect them from our typical late winter freezes and show off their flowers abs beauty in the upcoming seasons.

Everything with a plan, all with a purpose, and a beautiful one at that!

A great looking landscape looks even better when you have a fresh coat of mulch to cover the bedding areas. Mulching in winter is always a great time of the year for both the plants and your curb appeal. With many landscape trees already shedding their deciduous leaves for the previous growing season, there is less litter to be found blowing around in your mulch or Pinestraw bedding.

The plant benefit from the application also because there is less weeds to contest with, the mulch helps to retain moisture for the plants while shading out many would be weeds. Mulch and Pinestraw also help buffer temperature changes and help mediate the soil temperature for the upcoming spring.
