Gail is well known for her casually elegant interiors. Her successful interior design career spans over 25 years allowing her to be regarded as one of Michigan’s most well respected interior designers. Gail is an Allied Member of ASID and a member of IFDA. Her vast experience ranges from impeccably designed residential projects of all sizes to diverse contract projects such as judicial chambers, l
egal, medical and dental offices, a small restaurant, an art gallery and even a fish market. Gail believes each client’s esthetic preferences and practical needs are always the primary considerations when designing interiors. An initial Urso Designs consultation aids in listening to and embracing your ultimate goal of creating a warm, inviting environment while also staying within budget and meeting any time constraints. This result is a single room, an entire home or place of business that is individually tailored to each client’s unique needs, personal taste and style. Gail seeks to avoid trends and to create stylish, casually elegant interiors that will endure for years to come. She views each project as rewarding when clients are comfortable in the new tailored space. Gail has designed projects throughout Michigan, as well as in Florida, Arizona, Ohio, New York City and Chicago. Her work has been seen at the Junior League of Detroit, ASID/Detroit Historical Society and Detroit Symphony Show Houses. In March of 2012, Gail’s vignette in the March Madness “Design Two Ways” event at the Michigan Design Center was selected by the public as “The Room of My Dreams.” She was also honored to be named a Featured Designer at the Michigan Design Center. (be sure to link to your profile here as well as if you have online links to the above.) Gail is married to John Urso, an attorney, and is the mother of three sons, Kevin, Brian and Justin and mother-in-law to Justin’s wife Carrie. Gail and John reside in Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan with their golden retriever Ben and rescue beagle Riley. In her spare time, Gail loves to travel, read, garden, and attend concerts, theater and the ballet.
