🌼✨ Meet one of spring’s sweetest little secrets… the Trout Lily ✨🌼
Tucked quietly beneath the trees, Trout Lily (Erythronium americanum) is one of those plants you have to slow down to truly appreciate. Its delicate yellow, nodding flowers look like tiny lanterns lighting up the forest floor 💛

And those leaves… speckled like a brook trout! That’s exactly how it got its name 🐟🌿

This native beauty isn’t just pretty—it’s an early-season lifesaver for pollinators, offering nectar when not much else is blooming. And once it settles in, it forms dreamy little colonies that come back year after year.

❄️💙 Snow on the Bluebells! Spring in Tennessee keeps us guessing.
We woke up this morning in Middle Tennessee to a light blanket of snow… right on top of the Virginia bluebells!
These beautiful native wildflowers usually bloom in March just as winter is trying to make its final exit — so a little snow on their bright blue blooms isn’t unusual at all.
The good news? Virginia bluebells are tough.
They’re native woodland plants and perfectly adapted to our unpredictable spring weather. A quick dusting of snow or a chilly night won’t hurt them one bit. In fact, the snow can actually help insulate them from deeper cold.
By tomorrow, when the sun comes back out, those same flowers will likely pop right back up like nothing ever happened.
Nature’s reminder that spring is on the way… even if winter tries one last surprise. 🌸❄️
