Hello everyone and Merry Christmas to all. So been working on this for awhile. Actually the last bigger flood we had but lost steam about it that was just revived this last little one. I'm just surprised every time by how many people are caught off guard or wishful thinking? Hoping for the best and end up losing something. Whenever I see trailers still in the path of a flood I just can't help but put myself in their shoes thinking how bad it would be to lose my home from something that could be averted. The reasons why are many and different in each circumstance and I don't really want to focus too much on why or who's fault or people should know better. There is a story behind each case, government agency didn't pull through? People can't always afford a tow, truck normally used broke down just before, too little warning, not home, in another state, disability, or family emergency what have you I've heard a lot already. Doesn't really matter why to me just that I believe we can do better than this. I've been homeless plenty of times for whatever reason and I wouldn't wish that on anyone especially in the middle of a storm/winter and with kids or something to boot.
We have put together a short list of local volunteers willing to help tow anyone in need to higher ground temporarily and hopefully we can get you back when safe to do so. I do expect anyone called on this list to be treated kindly and not held responsible for possible damage trying to help. If you are interested in joining the list and helping tow people please message me and comment below. I think we will need more people that can tow 5th wheels the most and would be much appreciated.
Not trying to alarm anyone just trying to be more organized in the future.
The list is
Myself Liam, 7078923922
Russian River Handyman
Bumper pulled trailers
Ishi Woods, 7072104590
Owner of Woodland Gardens
Bumper pulled trailers
Cody Weber, 7078492422
Owner of Yard Care Plus
Bumper pulled trailers
William Edwards, 7078679514
Owner of Will Do All
Bumper pulled trailers but I am giving him my 5th wheel attachment to put on his truck
Tommy Loewen, 7076152124
Bumper pulled trailers
Gabe Barrio 7072909258
Can tow anything just not a goose neck, probably the most useful
Joshua Levi Young, 7079714406
I also believe bumper pulled trailers. Joshua Levi Young if you can remind me of that it would be appreciated.
If someone wants to help in other ways? Volunteering to help organize this, time, has a truck that we can use to tow, help cleaning up after, help moving people's things to high ground or donations financially are helpful please let me know. I've set up a go fund me and received $50 so far so I hope that gets some traction sooner or later. I'm planning on buying another truck just for 5th wheels or goose necks when I can. The one I have is my work truck and has tools boxes built in and a lumber rack. If need be I'll bring out my excavator just to move something a short distance if possible. If possible I'd like as much notice as we can get if you need to be towed my worry would be 40 people at the same time last minute. So please think hours ahead or even a day or two if you can. I'll distribute an updated list and waivers shortly to local parks just want to give it a few days to see if anyone else wants to help first. Im also completely willing to help with other things if needed too not just towing but this is the focus at the moment. You maybe saw me riding around on my little green tractor last time helping clean up stuff with a pressure washer and whatnot.
Here's my go fund me too.
