This Pine Woods snake bit me and I immediately accepted my fate.

I start screaming. The homeowner comes running. I yell, “HELP ME GET IT.”
She says, “No ma’am.”
Absolutely not.

Now she’s outside with a bucket and shovel, screaming in harmony with me. It’s giving church choir but make it trauma.

I catch it. Google it.
Not venomous.
So apparently I’m not dying from poison… just from pure adrenaline and disrespect.

Day three on this property and sir — you should have relocated yourself.

I tried to move him to the backyard yelling, “He’s a good snake!”
She’s yelling, “NOT IN MY YARD.”

Anyway.

The torpedo grass has been evicted.
The snake has been warned.
I have seen the light.

Torpedo grass crept in quietly.
It spread underground.
It thought no one would notice.

It was wrong.

I don’t chase weeds.
I hunt them.

By the time it realized what was happening,
the roots were already coming up.

Some invasions end in negotiations.
This one ended in extraction.
