From this ➡️ to this.

What you don’t see:
• the reworking
• the second-guessing
• the plants we moved (more than once)
• the ideas that didn’t work

What made the difference?

We stayed in a state of play.

That’s how you figure out what actually works in your garden.

This west border is now one of the most peaceful spots we’ve created—
and it started with just showing up and trying.

If you’re building your garden right now, this is your reminder:
you don’t need perfection… you need momentum.

Save this for inspiration and follow for more real garden progress 🌿

Every month on YouTube we host a live stream where we answer questions, give updates, and share some behind the scenes of what we are up to. We offer them to our Grow For Me Gardeners, who have joined our channel membership. If you are interested follow the link in the comments!

If your hydrangeas aren’t blooming the way you expected… there’s a good chance it’s not care — it’s identification.

Once you know the type, everything gets easier (pruning, sun, timing… all of it).

We put together a simple hydrangea ID chart that we actually use in our own garden.

You can grab it free at the link in our bio.

“it ain’t all sunshine and rainbows…”
…oh wait, it is 🌹

but only because of this part 👇🏼
we plant our bare root roses deep — a few inches below the soil line

in zone 6a that means:
protecting the graft through winter
keeping the plant stable (no rocking around in wind)
and setting it up to actually thrive long term

fast forward… and this is The Ancient Mariner 🤍
full, soft pink blooms
incredible old rose fragrance
blooms on repeat all season
about 4–5 ft tall and wide for us
and honestly one of the healthiest roses in our garden

this didn’t happen overnight
it started right here

thanks for growing with us 🌿

There’s something about gardening…
It slows you down, teaches you patience, and somehow always gives more than it takes.

These are a few of the quotes that feel especially true this time of year as everything begins to wake up again.

Which one feels most like you right now?

🌿 If you’re planning your garden this season, we share everything we’re learning along the way—design, plants, and the real process behind it all.

Thanks for growing with us.

Today's YouTube video marks the official start of our 2026 garden season, and we’re kicking things off by planting bare root roses in large containers. We’re also checking in on our rose standards that successfully overwintered in the garage—something we get asked about all the time in colder climates.
