A productive backyard is built step by step. Each zone supports the others, creating a system where food, water, animals, and soil fertility work together.

1️⃣ Fruit trees along the perimeter
Plant long-term crops first. Apple, pear, peach, and plum trees grow around the edges and provide harvests for many years once established.

2️⃣ Animal pens and apiary in a back corner
Place goats, rabbits, or laying hens upwind from the garden area. Their manure becomes fertilizer, while a few beehives pollinate fruit trees and vegetables.

3️⃣ Chicken coop on the opposite side
After each harvest, chickens can be rotated through the garden beds. They scratch the soil, add nutrients, and help reduce pests before the next planting.
