This 40 year old home was not installed with kick-out flashing where the eave of the roof intersects the side wall. This resulted in water getting behind the siding and causing the siding and sheathing to rot.

The siding had to be peeled back, sheathing replaced and reassembled with the proper kick-out flashing installed behind the step flashing and water-resistant barrier. This repair should last many more years.
