I just spent an amazing Birthday weekend in Chicago to see one of my favorite bands! Pearl Jam at Wrigley has been on my bucket list for years and my amazing soon to be husband made it happen. With that being said I’ve taken a much need break from making art. I’ve got myself a new job and career that I love. But don’t worry I will have new jewelry and designs coming soon to my Etsy! To our customers,

You may have heard that some small businesses who have a storefront on Etsy plan to go on strike this week by closing their Etsy shops. They are doing this to protest increased fees Etsy is charging its sellers who sell there. We wanted to share with our fans and followers that we will not be striking. We are open for business and happy to welcome you into our shop.

While we understand why some sellers are upset about the increased fees the Etsy marketplace charges, we feel that Etsy is one of the more affordable platforms to sell from and we calculate our pricing factoring in these costs and fees associated with selling our products.

We understand there will always be costs involved when growing a business, we feel blessed to be an e-commerce business which means our expenses are much lower than if we had a brick and mortar storefront to run.

We are grateful. We are grateful that Etsy gives us a beautiful platform to set up shop, and grateful that they have given the handmade and vintage industry a voice. As a small business the Etsy platform has given us a space to go up against some of the big box stores selling cheaper manufactured goods. In truth, Etsy has helped us grow our small business in ways we couldn’t have done without it.

Anytime a small business owner chooses to set up shop in someone else’s venue, they have rules, guidelines, costs and fees they must abide by. They also always have the choice to continue to sell there or to move on to set up shop somewhere else.

For now, we are happy to have a storefront on the Etsy platform and we will continue to have our doors open during this time. Thank you for your continued support. We are grateful to you all.
