Quick question for the colony before the long weekend.

What is the one project you are hoping to knock out this fall?

The wall you have measured three times but never started?

The muddy spot by the back door that eats a pair of boots every winter?

The edging that would make the whole yard finally look finished?

Tell us in the comments.

Naming it out loud is usually the hardest step, and this colony is good at nudging each other along.

And keep an eye on the page tomorrow. We have a little something for the holiday weekend.

Materials are ready at beaverspavers.com.

Weekly Ideas Day, and we are building a simple tree ring.

That bare, root bound circle under your shade tree where grass refuses to grow.

Step one. Mark a circle around the tree, wider than you think, at least three feet out from the trunk.

Step two. Set your Agility ties on end or lay them flat around the circle, curving the line with the short four foot pieces.

Step three. Level as you go and pin each tie so the ring holds its shape.

Step four. Fill inside with mulch, keeping it a few inches off the trunk itself.

Doing an ornamental planting inside the ring instead of mulch?

Line it with a heavy duty liner and keep it to ornamental and decorative plants only. No edible gardens.

Agility is the right pick here since the short ties bend around a curve without a fight.

Here is a fall project worth putting on the list.

A defined walkway from the driveway to the front door.

Right now most folks have a worn dirt path or a line of stepping stones slowly sinking into the grass.

Frame a straight gravel walk with reclaimed ties down both edges and you get a clean, welcoming approach that holds its shape through every season.

Heritage ties are perfect for this. Plenty of character, easy on the budget, and the walkway will look like it belongs the day you finish.

Cooler weather makes the digging almost pleasant.

New month, fresh look at the lineup.

Two grades and a compact option, and that is all you need to plan any project on your list.

Strength is grade one. $24 per tie, $480 per bundle of 20. Solid sides for walls and anything load bearing.

Heritage is grade two. $18 per tie, $360 per bundle of 20. Full of character for borders, edging, and decorative work.

Agility is the four foot tie. $14 each, $224 per bundle of 16. Light enough to haul yourself.

No guesswork. Just pick the job and the grade follows.

Did you know the grade you need is usually simpler than you think?

Here is the whole decision, start to finish.

Is it holding back soil or carrying weight? Strength.

Is it framing, edging, or decorating? Heritage.

Are you hauling it yourself without equipment? Agility.

That is it. That is the entire flowchart.

We simplified the lineup this month for exactly this reason. Two clear grades plus the compact option, so nobody stands in the yard second guessing themselves.

If you are still not sure, call us or come by. We will look at your project and tell you straight.

Last Sunday of August.

Take a walk around your property before the month closes out.

What worked this summer? What annoyed you every single time you looked at it?

That second list is your fall project list.

The bed that never had a clean edge. The slope that washed out twice. The parking spot that keeps eating gravel.

Write them down while they are fresh.

September weather is coming, and it is the best building weather of the year around here.

Saturday is our busiest day, and we like it that way.

Trucks and trailers coming through the gate all morning.

Folks picking out ties for a wall they have been sketching on a napkin since June.

Our crew running loads and answering questions.

If you have been meaning to come see the yard, this is the day it feels most alive.

Self pickup is free. Loading is free. Advice is free too, and we hand it out generously.
