Hi everyone! Sorry I’ve been a little MIA lately. 💛

Life has been extra full around here between illnesses, surgery recovery, D’s birthday, t-ball season, and the everyday chaos that comes with raising a big family. Some days it feels like I’m constantly playing catch-up but honestly, I wouldn’t trade this life for anything. A big, healthy family is such a blessing, even in the chaos.

That said, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about Mama Duck’s Kitchen and how to make things work better for both my family and our customers. While the pre-order model hasn’t gained as much traction as I hoped, I am hearing so much excitement about the baked goods themselves… so I’m thinking about switching things up a bit!

🧁What would everyone think about a driveway pop-up bake stand a couple weekends each month?

The idea would be:
• A variety of fresh baked goodies available first come, first served
• Hosted right at my home in the Buckroe area of Hampton
• Announced about a week in advance each time
• Open Saturdays and Sundays
• Honor-system style with a cash box + QR codes for electronic payments

If there’s enough interest and it goes well, I’d love to expand the days and offerings over time.

I’d truly love to hear your thoughts, suggestions, and what kinds of goodies you’d want to see most! 💕

This right here is why I took the leap… even when it didn’t make sense.

Your support of this little dream of mine means more than I could ever put into words. After I had him, the idea of leaving him every day had me spiraling a little bit. Like, nobody warns you about that level of mom guilt.

I knew I didn’t want to miss this. The little things. The big things. All of it. And because of this business (and y’all showing up for me the way you do)... I don’t have to.

I get to be here for the baseball games, the practices, the chaos, the snack times, the meltdowns, all of it. And that means everything to me.

Are we still figuring life out? Of course. I may be 33 but I am still looking for who made me the adult here. 😅

But this? This is worth it. Every single time. (Remind me of this when I'm baking at 2 in the morning, my kitchen is covered in flour and I'm on my 3rd Red Bull 🫠)

Thank you for taking a chance on me, supporting my business, my babies, and this slightly unhinged dream of mine. 🖤

PS: Easter menu is coming. I’m just out here trying to be a present mother, a business owner, and a functioning adult… not sure any of them won today. 😅

It is after 1am and I’m up making brownies. Not for a customer… for my CHILD. Yes, that's right, my child.

See… she promised her little friends she’d bring brownies on Friday. And honestly? For a group of 11-year-olds, they could’ve waited until Monday.

But then… then... she went and promised her teacher brownies for her birthday too.

And see, the way that school already braces itself when I walk in, I do NOT need to give them another reason to side-eye me like they already do. (I am way less polished in real life 😅)

Now back to these brownies. These are not regular shmegular brownies. Noooo. Too predictable.

This girl went and took a CUSTOM ORDER.

At 1am. In MY kitchen. With MY ingredients. Using MY sleep deprivation.

So if y’all see my 11-year-old out here acting like she has a hard life, like I don’t love her... Y’all better remind her she got a full-service bakery operating at 1:24 in the morning, after wrangling 2 toddlers that decided sleep was optional tonight. 😴😴

Because the level of audacity? Kinda impressive but definitely unmatched.

11:33 last night, I pulled these rolls out of the oven like it was completely normal for a Wednesday night. I mean really... with a home bakery, 4 kids and well.... life, what even is normal anymore?

The amount of ️self control it took to not eat half the pan straight out of the oven? Unmatched. Honestly shocked myself 😅

Soft, fluffy, buttery… the kind of rolls that make you cheat on your diet and decide they are dinner all on their own.

Fueling today’s chaos with a Buckroe Coffee Co. sugar-free latte because sleep is a distant memory and this Easter content isn’t going to film itself.

Day 2 of filming/editing, with the 3 year old supervising and the 1 year old just here for the snacks. We’re figuring this out as we go because outside of baking, I truly have no idea what I’m doing.

If this menu drops on time, it’s nothing short of a small miracle held together by caffeine and pure delusion.

Got to put together a birthday treat box this week and honestly… it was too fun not to share.

This one had:
🍓 chocolate dipped strawberries
🥨 jumbo dipped pretzels
🍰 a 4" red velvet mini bundt with cream cheese style buttercream
🍪 a 4-cookie sampler (Cookies & Cream, Brown Butter Chocolate Chip, Turtle, & Everything But the Kitchen Sink)

Basically the dessert version of “just bring me one of everything.”

I don’t officially have custom boxes on the menu right now, but every once in a while I’ll put something like this together if my schedule allows.

For now, enjoy the dessert photos and the latest batch of delicious chaos that came out of my kitchen this week.

Alright friends… the question of the week:

👉🏻Do the chocolate Easter eggs need to make a comeback this year? 👀

Because the last time I made them the response was a little bigger than I expected and while that meant a lot of late-night chocolate work, I was incredibly grateful for every single order. (Seriously… the support was amazing and I appreciate all of you.)

For anyone who missed them, these are the stuffed chocolate eggs with the pastel drizzle (scroll the photos 👀). Thick chocolate shells with completely filled centers like:

🥜 Peanut Butter
☁️ Marshmallow Cream
🥥 Coconut Cream
🍪 Cookie Butter
🍫 Chocolate Fudge Buttercream

So before I start melting an insane amount of chocolate and turning my kitchen into a temporary chocolate factory…

I need to know:

Should these delicious little Easter eggs return?

If they do, I’ll be running them with a specific pre-order days (& a pre-order form) and set pickup/delivery days this time around so everything runs smoothly and everyone actually gets what they want.

ALSO while I have you here…

I’m working on the Easter pre-order menu, and I want to know what YOU want to see.

Things I’m considering:
🍪 Spring / Easter cookies
🍰 Cake slices
🧁 Layered cake cups or mini cake tins making a comeback?

Based on what you all said:
👉🏻 Going back to my original rice crispy treat recipe (she was perfect and I messed with her anyway🤦🏻‍♀️)
👉🏻 Revamping the cinnamon rolls (quit questioning my gut and no shortcuts)
👉🏻 Returning to the original dinner rolls recipe... it was loved for a reason

So tell me:
