A woodpecker found a problem with this siding, and made it even worse!

When birds are going after your siding, something inside is attracting them. They love to hunt for bugs in there, and even build a nest if the damage has created enough space.

Renovations are made up of a large series of decisions, big and small. We make most of those decisions before the crew starts demolition. Walking the site and assessing the situation is where the chaos gets organized. Here’s just a glimpse into that part of the process.

This is what happens when the original builder cuts corners.

We pulled off the old vinyl soffit and fascia on this project and found that there was not enough support behind it. Over time, that kind of thing doesn’t just look bad. It leads to structural issues that compound the longer they go unaddressed.

So before anything new went up, we built the support in.

Then we installed James Hardie soffit and fascia, which holds up against the elements, doesn’t rot, doesn’t warp, and doesn’t need to be replaced in ten years.
