Last thing we want to do is tell you your chimney has leaked for 10 years and now your roof is rotting from the inside out. Fix the roof, fix the dry wall, dry everything out, STILL have to water proof the chimney….Oof.

💧 Is Your Chimney Protected Against Water Damage? 💧

Water is one of the #1 hidden threats to your chimney—and most homeowners don’t realize there’s a problem until it’s already causing expensive damage.
In our region of Western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee, your chimney and masonry can endure dozens of freeze-thaw cycles in a single season.

Tri-Cities / East Tennessee: This area experiences an average of 15 to 25 freeze-thaw cycles annually.

High Country / Boone North Carolina: Depending on the severity of the winter, the region can fluctuate constantly, producing 30, 40, or even 50 or more cycles per season.

Why we take school seriously (even after 20+ years). 🎓🔥

One of my absolute favorite things to do is taking the whole Ember Keepers crew to our annual industry education events. We just got back from the North Carolina Chimney Sweep Association winter meeting, and I’m buzzing with energy.
Why do we close up shop to sit in a classroom?
Because "good enough" is never good enough when it comes to your home’s safety. This industry changes fast—new codes, new safety tech, and better ways to protect your family.
Going as a group elevates the whole team. It creates amazing opportunities for our younger techs to learn from veterans and for all of us to sharpen our skills. Now, we get to bring that knowledge back to the High Country to help our community stay safer and serve you even better.
