Consider landscaping with lots of color for interest during all seasons. This is generally done with perennials, although many other types of plants should be used in the design also. http://www.susanschlenger.com/projects_8.htm

The front yard landscape design for this NJ property was challenging, but turned out stunning. Over 400 perennials were used, driveway pavers, and boulders.
