Sorry, we have to say this!
Because today was absolutely ridiculous. “While we greatly appreciate the huge influx of calls, and new business this year”
It is still a Sunday, and a holiday weekend 🤦🏽
It’s completely understandable to feel frustrated when you want to reach a business, especially if you are trying to check items off your to-do list, but expecting an instant response during a major holiday weekend is usually unrealistic, and
it’s a Sunday, too.
However…
Getting mad at a business for not answering on a holiday weekend is, and we apologize in advance, a personal problem!
Because we are closed or operating with limited staff, taking your anger out on them usually backfires or falls on deaf ears.
To save your own time and energy in the future, try these quick, practical steps. Ask yourself:
• What day is it?
• Is it the weekend?
• Maybe I should try again on Monday?
Or try sending a quick message, that way you get your inquiry out of your head immediately without waiting for someone to pick up the phone.
Use local community groups: If it's an emergency, posting in local town forums or neighborhood apps is often faster for getting recommendations than cold-calling a business who rarely is closed, even when you call at 10:45 p.m. at night, expecting someone to pick up the phone for you after hours.
P.S. You know who you are 🤣
Please, be understanding of small, locally owned family businesses. We provide what we can when we can. We’re not chain businesses like Walmart. We’re people.
