Before. After. What a difference preparation makes.

This beautiful mahogany entry door was showing its age after years of exposure to the elements. We took it all the way back to bare wood, carefully removing the failing finish and preparing every square inch for restoration.

After extensive sanding and surface preparation, we applied two coats of Sherwin-Williams WoodScapes Premium Translucent Oil, allowing the natural beauty of the wood to shine through while providing long-lasting protection.

The result speaks for itself. The depth, grain, and character of the mahogany absolutely come alive when finished properly.

A lot of people only see the finished paint job. They don’t see what’s underneath.

These columns looked decent from the ground, but once we soft washed them, years of failed paint layers, poor prep, trapped moisture, and shortcut repairs started showing themselves fast. Paint was literally peeling off in sheets.

This is exactly why proper prep matters.

Anybody can throw another coat of paint on something and make it look good for a little while. The hard part is taking the time to remove failing coatings, correct the underlying issues, and do the work the right way so it actually lasts.

The amount of detail work in these column capitals is incredibly time consuming, but this is the kind of craftsmanship that separates true restoration work from a quick repaint.

Cedar Pergola Rejuvenation

This pergola had never been sealed, leaving the cedar faded and weathered over time.

We started with a full prep using Sherwin-Williams DeckScapes Revive to properly clean and restore the wood — because without the right prep, nothing lasts.

From there, we applied Sherwin-Williams DeckScapes Exotic Timber Oil in a Natural tone, bringing the cedar back to life while adding real protection against the elements.
