Build up in your shower is more common than you think.
Do you have kids learning? Do you have hard water? Are your bottles leaking? Does your shower get enough airflow? Or has more time went by than you realized and you forgot to hit these places? No matter the reason it’s a super easy fix!
So a good rule of thumb is:
* Once a week → Quick wipe under and around bottles (especially if you already clean your shower weekly)
* Every 2–3 weeks → Lift everything out and do a more thorough clean (scrub any buildup, rinse, dry before putting bottles back)
Why it matters:
* Water gets trapped under bottles → leads to mildew, soap scum, and bacteria
* Products can leak or drip → leaves sticky residue that’s harder to clean later
* That “ring” or slimy feeling under bottles? That’s buildup you don’t want sitting there
A couple easy habits that make it way less annoying:
* When you’re done showering, tilt bottles or move them slightly so water doesn’t stay trapped
* Use a small shower caddy or rack so bottles aren’t sitting directly on the surface
* If you notice a slippery film, don’t wait—just wipe it right then (takes 30 seconds vs. scrubbing later)
If your shower tends to stay damp or doesn’t get much airflow, lean closer to weekly. If it dries quickly, you can stretch it a bit.
