Traditionally, Mahogany was grain filled and then tinted darker during the sealing process. Fortunately, this client didnt care about tradition and this beautiful wood simply got amplified with a nice and protective clear coat. As an added bonus, both drawers remain fully functional. If Mahogany was the only thing i ever worked with, I would not be mad about it. This is one of my all-time favorite refinish/repurpose projects.

Another cool project; added a shower using whatever tiles the client already had available, in addition to a couple of really nice pieces of glass, and sunken cypress trim i milled from a rough sawn slab that was generously donated to match the antique cypress desk that I restored and converted to a vanity. It all came together beautifully in this 100+ year old home.

Finally got by to see the lights in the dark. Here's the final pole barn update. Am I the only one severely bothered by the fact that the light color doesn't match the landscape lighting? I already planted the seed, I expect a call to replace them sooner or later. Other than that, I think we nailed it.

I finally got to do another project with Kellie Hicks. She designed every detail of this remodel in just about a week or less. She sourced all of the materials, fixtures, and appliances, and had to stay on top of numerous contractors and suppliers in order to bring it to life. A+, Kellie, its always a pleasure to work with you.

This house had more head scratching weirdness than you can imagine! Kellie Hicks and myself put in some long hours and solved some difficult puzzles here. She came up with the new design and sourced all of the materials. In doing so, we were able to go much further than I ever imagined our wimpy budget would allow. She also was a huge help with the painting. I replaced the windows, redesigned and refurbished the big window, built all of the cabinets from scratch, built and epoxied the countertops, built the fireplace mantle and hearth, installed a vanity, refinished the bathtub, added structural support, installed trim, and repaired countless small things that seemed to never end. We are both very proud of our results and I'm looking forward to working with Kellie on another remodel in the future!
