The Byram Shubert Library was originally designed by R Marshall Christiansen in 1974. Our addition transformed the library, doubling it in size, creating a split level connection to the original library. It respects the original design, blending seamlessly with the previous building while also making more sustainable improvements like energy efficient lighting and windows.

Greenwich Academy encourages artistic expression in every student, at every academic level. The new Visual Arts Center (VAC) speaks to this mission. Part of the original Performing Arts Center (PAC) at the south end of the campus was demolished and three interconnected pavilions were created adjacent to the remaining PAC. The VAC houses studios for 2D and 3D art, media production, music, and dance. Its lobby is a light-filled, expansive space that serves as an art gallery, a Student Commons, and a gathering space for PAC events. It is the quintessential place to celebrate the arts and community.

The VAC was designed to respect the existing finishes of the original PAC. The building and courtyard integrate seamlessly with the surrounding campus, creating a unique composition of indoor and outdoor spaces.

The Oxford Library provides a duality with its two sides. Half is dedicated to adult services with reading and reference areas, digital carrels, quiet study rooms, and access to the community room. The other side contains spaces for children and teens. The interior of the library is simple and elegant. The spaces are light-filled and transparent for easy supervision; interior materials are calm, natural, and easy to maintain.

Half Hollow Hills Library and East Meadow Library have been invited to and nominated for the AIA (American institute of Architects) Long Island 58th Annual Architects Awards Gala!

Darien library was designed by Peter Gisolfi and built in 2009 with the classic New England style in mind. It is LEED certified for sustainability. The library has many windows which allow for the natural light to flood the space, but also provides a sense of stability and strength held throughout the building.

The Dobbs ferry public library
It consists of two rectangular buildings ‘wings’ joined by a flat roof entry pavilion. This library is a perfect fit for the village and is unique in the way it stands out and yet seems to blend into the very fabric of the town.
