The brooder is about to be put back to use! We’ve got 15 chicks arriving next month to hopefully double our flock (as long as we don’t lose any 🙏🏻).

Be ready for some chick cuteness and hopefully that means we’ll be swimming in eggs by the end of summer! 😍🙌🏻

See their pretty snow coats? That’s a GOOD thing! Cows with snow on their backs are warmer than cows without!

The snow on their backs indicate that they are retaining their own body heat. If it was melting…they’d be losing their body heat.

Snow coats are a beautiful thing in the winter for cows when they are healthy and happy! ❤️❤️

Petunia got all washed up tonight for tomorrow’s Haviland Thresher Show! Come snuggle up on her and grab a photo while supporting a local event!

We had two more piglets go to their new home last week! 😍😍😍

How cute are they?! I loved the little girl’s pointy ears but also the boar’s floppy ones. 🥰

We have one female piglet left! She has a very sturdy stature and would make a great breeding gilt! Message us if interested! She is 12 weeks old.

The Happy Homestead is "the petting zoo" at the 58th Annual Southwest Kansas Antique Engine & Thresher Show this year right here in Haviland, Kansas!

And by "petting zoo", we mean Miss Petunia here.

While we'd love to bring more of our cows, our Jerseys are a little more notorious for not loving tons of attention. They throw a bit more sass but Petunia absolutely adores being loved on and let's be honest...who doesn't want to love on a mini cow?! 😍😍

Petunia will be available for pets and snuggles on August 26th after the parade on Main Street out at the Thresher grounds.

If you don't know who we are, we are Justin & Shelbey Kendall along with our three amazing children. We homeschool, we homestead, and we just geniunely love being rooted in the things God has called us to. We built our house in 2021 and simultaneously built a homestead welcoming our milk cow, KuneKune pigs, and chickens. We eventually added Petunia because she's a mini cow. Who doesn't want a mini cow? We offer raw milk (although our customer list is currently full) and sometimes fresh farm eggs if we haven't eaten them all. Our goal has been to learn how to become more self sustaining and share our overflow.

We are excited to see you on Saturday, August 26th! And so is Petunia!

(We may sneak a KuneKune piglet in but we've only got one left and since they are available for sale--there are no guarantees.)

These are the three we have left.

Both gingers are girls and the black/cream is a boar. Honestly, he’s my favorite. I love his floppy ears.

11 weeks old today. Momma was separated out yesterday. They’ve been of weaning age for 3 weeks but got a little extra time with mom until she was just too drained.

Just delivered these two sweet girls to their new owners. 😍🥰 Love their coloring and elf ears!

The Fab Five is still currently available. We have had some interest over the weekend but none were picked up. ❤️

We opted not to go to the auction in the heat warning, but these babes are 9 weeks old and momma is ready for them to be gone.

4 girls and an in tact boar left (boar is the black and cream).

We are also in the process of trying to find a good home for Earl and Wanda (our breeding boar and a breeding sow--both proven).

We are making some homestead decisions on what works for us, our acreage, and our season of life and the pigs are all looking for new homes. 💔 We’ve raised our breeding pigs since they were 8 weeks old and their personalities are the best.

They’ve all been raised around children and loved dearly. All adults are just over or under 2 years old and have many years left in them for producing gorgeous babies.

Message if interested! We’ve got to disperse of the majority of our herd soon.
