Roof finished up we rewrapped the entire dormer and use ice and water shield everywhere a potential leak could happen we also chose function over form with the step flashing leaving around 1 inch of the flashing exposed to insure water cant intrude around the bottom of dormer we also used a closed cut valley a weave wouldnt be recommended for this type of shingle also added a bead of roof sealant along the valley cut this roof will never leak in this area again

Hello everyone, we had a call about an emergency repair and now that we have seen what has happened we decided to inform everyone about what can go wrong when ya get the "cheap" guy. At first glance this roof looked okay but then we start noticing shortcuts. We begin tearing off the problem area and notice the nails are placed more below the nailing area rather than on it, we also noticed that they nailed directly in the valley through the flashing, after that we found they nailed through the step flashing up the dormer. decided to take the siding off noticed they didn't flash around windows properly, and to beat all of that there is not any ice/water shield or drip edge around the perimeter of the entire roof, also found multiple nails through the face of the shingles without any sealant on them. All of these small details sometimes get overlooked to either save money or time and the bad part is most of the time the customer doesn't even know. Just a helpful reminder to the average homeowner do your due diligence, ask questions if the price is to high negotiate don't go straight to the better price because that could potentially double in the near future. As we are moving into the new year we would like to wish everyone an amazing 2026. That being said Spring in soon approaching and our schedule is being filled, with march marking the beginning of a new residential build from the ground up. we are currently finishing up a remodel and have gotten a few calls about bringing places up to HUD standards. I have been searching for a good floor planner/ Cad software for a long time and have actually found one this is called sketchup 100% free software online it allows for top down floor plans, and includes precise measurements as well as a 3d modeling program 100% recommend and hopefully soon this floor plan won’t be on a piece of paper!

I will compile all of these into an album in the future but we are a go on this project we had the building inspector on site today and we are now in the process of soil tests we will soon have power on site and be pumping some life back into this beauty our goal is to rebuild but preserve as much of the original look as possible we will be doing a new roof new doors and windows electrification and plumbing as well as skirting we will be designing a new covered porch for the front and the inside will be brought up to date with new drywall, cabinetry, flooring, lighting. This house began as what looked to be an old house buried by limbs, and rotting wood. It was holding a past that soon would never be uncovered. It has proven that the old timers put in a great amount of time, effort, blood, sweat, and tears but most important of all that all that work wasn’t for the now the person building this built it to stand for generations not knowing what the future would hold. No construction beats old construction here is the proof!

New siding finished up. Definitely had some water intrusion and didn’t have any moisture/air barrier. We installed new house wrap which should help prevent water damage and heat loss which = cheaper power bill and also ran new siding to stop any water damage in the future.

*UPCOMING RENOVATION* 100 year old house held up with trees when we got called to this job my first thought was this was impossible but the investigation began and we uncovered hardwood floors in perfectly good shape, original fireplaces, old colonial style trim, and no rot whatsoever besides a 2x2 area at the front door. I can’t wait for this one as this will show that if you have the right mindset and enough drive anything is possible every window in the place was busted and 1 foot of leaves obscured the bueaty underneath we inspected every inch for rot and couldn’t find anything all the floors are level and rafters were in perfectly good shape we walked the entire place no creaks or groans like you would expect stay tuned to see the revival of this home that has a long history and plenty of memories waiting to be made!
