Hi! It's been a while! We are glad winter is over and summer is here! We celebrated Earth Day by getting our hands dirty and holding animals squirmy 🪱
We learned all about worms and the important job they have in our compost! We got that hands-on-experience with wiggly worms, cute pill bugs, decaying fruit and vegetables, and dirt-to-be all week!

Oh, it's getting cold out there!🥶🌨❄️
How have we been fairing with the cold here at our school garden?! With cold frames and cold crops, of course! Here's a garden update, everything pictured is what our 3rd grade students have planted.
🏫Last Thursday, we talked about the cold frames and the fall/winter garden. We then tried lettuce tacos, made with lettuce from our garden!!💚🌱

Our first Cooking Class went sooo well!!! We're so happy with the turnout! Thank you to all the families that came and made delicious pizzas and chocolate-y brownies.
And YES! The pizza sauce and toppings were from our very own school garden, and the mozzarella was made fresh by Crafted by Lindberg !!!

Next week we will have our first Cooking Class at West Perry! Partnering with Mrs. Anita, the FRYSC, we will host a family cooking class where you get to make pizza from scratch. There are TEN SLOTS. Such a fun activity, especially for Farm 2 School month as we're learning the life cycle of a pumpkin and how seeds grow! Big thank you to Mrs. Gibson and more thank yous to K-4th for being such great students!🎃

Happy Halloween!🍂👻🎃 Students celebrated the spooky season with a spooky cooking class! The 3rd graders made mummy hot dogs, completed with blood (ketchup) and monster mucus (mustard)!! They learned many different skills, including following a recipe, cooking with dough, using a knife, using an air fryer, and decoration! Super proud of these kids!

Oh my GOURD!! We're starting a cooking club for kids starting in November 🧑‍🍳

We are so happy to have Jenny Williams teaching cooking class with our students again. She did such a wonderful this summer teaching during 'Summer Creativity Days' that we just had to bring her in to do a club.

Cooking Club with meet twice a month at the ArtStation from 4:30-6:00 PM. Students 5 years & older can join and we can take 8 students total for the club. Better sign em up quick! First meeting is November 13th.
