Come shop with us this Saturday, June 13th for our East End Pop Up Plant Sale, corner of N. Pacific & Gem Way in Garfield. We’ll be there rain or shine slingin’ plants and talking native plant gardening strategies from 10am-1pm. Box a box, bring a tote (or show your love for native plants and snag one of ours!) And as always, this list is not comprehensive - I always like to throw in a few surprises! What kind of surprises you say?? 🤔 They are usually super cool plants that I have a low supply of, so I don’t add them to my availability lists. Stop in at 10 and get first dibs! 🌱❤️

Appointments are back for this week! How does this work you say? 🤔 Check out our list and head on over to www.rustbeltnatives.com. Click on “Schedule a Pick Up” to see my full schedule and grab an appointment spot. Need more details? The full inventory with sizes and prices can be viewed by hitting the “Check our Plant Inventory” button. But not sure what to plant? We have you covered there too - the “Plant List 2026” page is everything we’re working on growing for the year, sortable by soil type and light conditions, along with many other considerations (including pet safety and keystone status!) to help you plan. Still stumped? Im also still just a message away to tell you which native tree can replace that stump. 👋

There were 6 different species of insects living their best lives on this Common Milkweed leaf at one point while I watched (more if you count the different types of aphids). Once this starts to happen I see lots of people posting about what to put on their milkweeds to stop aphids, but really - don’t we build backyard habitats for everybody? The ants are farming the aphids. The ladybugs, hoverfly larvae, and other friends are eating the aphids - basically it’s a party and everyone’s invited.🎈Even things that seem harmless in fighting aphids like soaps and organic oils will not only kill the vibe, but likely kill all of the party guests too. So kick back, relax, maybe play some 80’s new wave tunes for your insect guests, and enjoy the party.🎊
