How to plant an amaryllis the right way — for gorgeous Christmas blooms 🎄🌺👇
1. Choose a healthy bulb — firm, no soft spots.
2. Pick a pot with drainage ~1–2” wider than the bulb.
3. Add well-draining soil so the top third of the bulb sits above the rim.
4. Place the bulb pointy-side up; firm soil around it.
5. Water lightly — keep soil slightly moist, not soggy.
6. Set in bright, indirect light and keep at room temp (65–70°F).
7. Wait for roots (2–4 weeks), then watch the stalk and bud appear — plant 6–8 weeks before you want it to bloom to time it for Christmas.
