Thanks to a generous donation of 10 pallets of dry dog food from United Pet Fund, we’re excited to host a drive-thru pet food pantry this weekend!

This event is to support community members who may be struggling to keep up with the cost of pet food and ensure pets can stay happy, healthy and at home with their families.

📍Pioneer Park (right across from the shelter)

📅 Saturday, April 11 | 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (or while supplies last)
🐶 Limit one bag of dog food per car. Must be a Kenton County resident. Only dry dog food available.

Our pet food pantry runs 100% on donations and is only available to Kenton County residents. If you would like to support the pantry, we accept donations daily. For more information about pet food assistance, stop into the shelter to speak with our team during open hours.

Two National Changes May Affect Your 2026 Tax Filings and Refunds

Before filing, please review these two important national changes for 2026:

USPS Postmark Delays

Due to federal government changes, postmarks may no longer reflect the date you drop off your mail at your local post office. Taxpayers should file electronically, request a manual postmark at the post office counter, or mail early.

Direct Deposit Refunds

Effective April 1, 2026, the name on your tax return must match the name on your bank account to receive a direct deposit refund. Otherwise, a paper check will be mailed. Taxpayers and businesses should review their name and bank account information prior to filing their returns to avoid delays.

Please follow all official channels regarding communication for the search for Jenny Din. Boone County Sheriff's Office, KY is the lead agency and Boone County Ky - Government is sharing that information.

Volunteers can report to the Oakbrook Swim Club to help with the search efforts. As a reminder, residents in the area are asked to check confined spaces that they can safely access and review any security video footage. Please report any information that may help law enforcement by calling 859-371-1234.

Local and state agencies have been leading search efforts since yesterday evening, including the following:

-Boone County Sheriff's Office, KY
-Boone County Emergency Management
-Boone County Water Rescue Team
-Florence Police Department - Florence, KY
-Kentucky State Police
-Local fire districts
-Campbell County LandSAR Team (Campbell County KY Office of Emergency Management)
-Hamilton County Search and Rescue Team

The Sheriff’s Office is planning another briefing around 3 pm.

CLOSED for MONDAY DECEMBER 15TH. **The district's notification provider is currently experiencing high traffic nationwide resulting in delays. Messages have been sent out, it just may take a little while before they are received.**

It is going to get down to 2 degrees overnight. Make sure you let those faucets drip and leave your cabinet door beneath the faucet open, it will keep as much heat as possible circulating throughout your house to keep those pipes from freezing.

-Roadways are extremely hazardous.
-Accumulated or blowing snow is on roadways.
-Roadways may be icy.
-Only essential travel is advised.
-Parked vehicles should be moved off roads.
