As temperatures in Tennessee drop below freezing (32°F), it’s time to ensure your home is ready to handle the chill. Frozen pipes can cause costly damage, but with a few simple precautions, you can avoid this winter plumbing nightmare.

How to Protect Your Pipes:
1️⃣ Turn faucets to a steady stream – A slow drip isn’t enough! Let both hot and cold water run at a steady stream to prevent pipes from freezing.
2️⃣ Insulate exposed pipes – Cover pipes in unheated areas like garages, basements, and crawl spaces to keep them warm.
3️⃣ Open cabinets – Allow warm air to circulate around plumbing under sinks, especially on exterior walls.
4️⃣ Disconnect outdoor hoses – Drain and store hoses, and shut off outdoor spigots to prevent freezing.

Signs of Frozen Pipes:
🔸 Little or no water flow from faucets.
🔸 Frost on visible pipes.
🔸 Unusual noises like clanking or banging when turning on the water.
🔸 Bulging or cracked pipes, which can indicate freezing pressure.

What to Do If Pipes Freeze:
🔧 Turn off the main water supply – This prevents flooding if the pipe bursts.
🔧 Open the faucet – Leave it open to relieve pressure and allow melting water to escape.
🔧 Thaw pipes carefully – Use a hairdryer, heating pad, or warm towels to apply gentle heat to the frozen section of the pipe. Never use open flames or high heat!

We believe every child deserves the chance to make special memories, so we’re excited to host our ANNUAL fair giveaway again this year! 🎡 (This giveaway is for the Henderson County Fair only)

✨ Last year, thanks to this community’s generosity, we were able to send 12 children to the fair—and we can’t wait to do it again this year! ✨

Here’s how it works:
🔹 Send Destiny Nicolee a private message with how many children you have and their ages 📲
🔹 We’ll cover the cost of your child(ren)’s fair bracelets 🎟️
🔹 We’ll meet you at an agreed-upon day and time near a ticket booth to pay 💵
🔹 Your family will remain completely anonymous—this is about giving with no strings attached 🫶🏼
🔹 Families will be randomly drawn on Sunday, September 7th

We want to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who shared our post, recommended friends and family to enter, and contributed in any way to our effort to sponsor kids for the fair! 🥳

We were truly overwhelmed by the response, with 110 families entering and a total of 219 children hoping for a chance to attend the fair. Thanks to the generous help of a few others and Buck’s Plumbing's contribution, we are thrilled to announce that we will be sending 12 children to the fair this year! 🎡🎠

We have been deeply moved by the messages we've received from so many families. Some brought us to tears, reminding us why we started this in the first place. We wish with all our hearts that we could send every single family that entered the giveaway to the fair, but unfortunately, we can't do that this year.

This was our first time doing something like this, and we are so grateful for the outpouring of support. Our hope is to make this a tradition and continue sponsoring kids for years to come. We are determined to send more kids next year, and even more the following year, so that we can make an even bigger impact on our community🙌🏼

It has been our absolute pleasure to relieve some stress for these families, and we hope the kids who are attending have an amazing time at the fair! Thank you all once again for being a part of this journey with us🩵
