If you heat your home with a Heat Pump take a few minutes to take a look at it. If you notice it completely iced over it is best to turn your thermostat to emergency heat or auxiliary heat until the ice can melt off the unit. The heat pump itself will try to defrost itself roughly every 90 min. But some are built with a full metal cage around them that can freeze over from the weather.
