***We are now closed for the 2026 season.***
As our season ends, we would like to thank everyone who supported us this spring by visiting our greenhouse, sharing our FB posts and recommending us to family and friends.
As a small, seasonal business we are greatly affected by the weather and other factors beyond our control. And our selling season is short and busy and we can sell out quickly. While selling out early is a big challenge of being a grower, we take great pride in the quality of what we grow and are grateful for the continued support of our customers.
We are always amazed that there are still people in our small community who are discovering our greenhouse for the very 1st time. 😉
Please join us next spring as we celebrate an exciting milestone-- our 30th year of spring growing! (Unbelievable!)
Thank you again and we will see you in the spring!

🌿 rhubarb is the most low-maintenance productive perennial in any kitchen garden. plant it once in the right position and it feeds you for 20 years.
most people either grow rhubarb wrong — harvesting too hard in year one — or don't grow it at all because they think it is complicated. it is neither. 🌿
the establishment rules 👇
🌿 YEAR ONE — do not harvest at all. let every stem grow fully. the plant is establishing its root system. the energy from the leaves goes to the roots. harvesting in year one significantly reduces long-term productivity.
🌿 YEAR TWO — harvest lightly. take no more than half the stems. leave the rest to continue feeding the root system.
🌿 YEAR THREE ONWARD — harvest freely from april through june. stop harvesting in july — the plant needs the rest of the season to rebuild energy reserves for the following spring.
the forcing trick 🌿
place an upturned bucket or large pot over the crown in february. the darkness produces the pale pink forced rhubarb — sweeter, more tender, the most beautiful shade of pink available from any garden plant in late winter. forced stems are ready 3 to 4 weeks earlier than unforced.
stop harvesting in july regardless of how much the plant is producing. this is the single rule most rhubarb growers break and the reason their plants decline after 5 years rather than improving. 🌿
save this!! 🔖
👇 do you grow rhubarb? how old is your crown and is it still productive?
