I almost had a full on Panic Attack this morning. I had debated on bringing in the Chicks last night, looked at the weather & it was pose to be cold, but not terrible. I woke up this morning & when I looked at my phone it said "FREEZE WARNING". I flew up outta bed scared I was gonna find dead Chicks outside. When I got out there & heard no 'peep peep'. Looked inside the coop, no Babies 😭 opened up under the coop & there they were, all huddled up & alive. Thank God! Chickens are hearty birds & can take some pretty brutal temps, but the Chicks, only a month old, can be tricky. I actually sat on the ground & watched the for awhile. They really do love their little roosting bar. 🐣🖤🐣

I AM MAKING BOILED PEANUTS!!!
You need Green Peanuts to make em' & those are not easy to come by. I really do love me some Cajun Boiled Peanuts. When I lived in SC, they had Roadside Boiled Peanuts Stands like The D has Roadside BBQ. They were always so delish!🥜

The company also sent me free Sunflower Seeds. My Sunflower Garden is gonna be epic 🌻

I have been checking my nesting boxes for weeks & there is never anything in this box. Checked this morning, again, nothing. Just checked all my boxes again & wth? My Hens musta had a party in this box & didn't invite me 😑

But really, why did it have to be this nesting box? It is the grossest one cause a, I don't know which, chicken must roost on it cause it is the poopyist 😔

I swear, on this little Homestead today, was the equivalent of people driving on the first nice sunny day of the year. Phillip & The Goat Girls were acting especially insane. Hopping all over the place, head butting each other & running around like maniacs. Even Ruthie was acting like a Bull 🤣 Dexter, being particularly needy today, tried to climb me like a tree, 3 TIMES!!! 1st time being while walking w/a full bowl of Chicken Feed! (Thank God she is little cause my legs would be worse 🤣) I actually had to grab her, which I have never done. Here I am, trying to carry her w/one arm while trying not to move too slowly w/feeding the Eaters. If I even pause, I get Chickens flying at me, landing on my head & in the food bowl. Which I usually can handle, but while holding a cat at my hip..yeah, you can picture it. And THE CHICKENS, oh lawds, it was like Caligula out there today. That is all I will say bout that.. 😆🤷😆

I really don't have anything to say for myself cept I was very traumatized by the destruction of over $300 worth of seeds. 🤷

What happens when you leave an open box of seeds in the back room. Over 100 packets of seeds, eaten by a mouse 😭 After I lost my s**t (it's amazing how this was the event that just tipped the scales to an emotional breakdown), I started looking for replacements of the things that I really really wanted to grow. So far, I've replaced my Butterfly Bush seeds & now looking for Lilac Peppers. I'm hoping to have everything set up by the end of February so I can start my seeds. Thank God I still had my binders of seeds where the jerk faces couldn't eat them 🌱🌻🌱

I was happy to be able to be outside more than 5 mins today. Walked around, carried a few Chickens, petted the Goats & enjoyed some Sun. Phillip & Ruthie just wanted all the attention (or the bread 😆) I can never get good pics of the Goat Girls. Every time I am giving them attention, here comes Ruth & her grumpy goat ass to spoil it 😑. Being out there makes me so happy. 🐐🐓 🖤
