I just ordered a few new rose varieties for our garden this season; these are from Grace Rose Farm and will come as #1 grade bare root shrubs, shipping in April. Eden Climbing Rose, Princess Charlene de Monaco and Koko Loco. 🌹

A fall harvest, a winter afternoon, and my mother’s vintage hot water bath canner. 🍅
With my mom visiting, we were able to finally put up the tomatoes we harvested last fall — 8 quarts and 1 pint of spaghetti sauce, simmered and canned using her vintage hot water bath canner, just the way it’s always been done.

Decided we should test our marriage again by hanging wallpaper. Excited to share that we're still married and our bedroom is finally getting a fresh coat of paint, wallpaper and "new to us" vintage furniture and decor.

🌸 Our Final Bouquets of the 2025 Season and our next chapter 🌸

As we wrap up our final bouquets of this growing season, I can’t help but feel an overwhelming mix of gratitude and nostalgia. What a beautiful year it’s been — full of rain, heat, and the kind of growing conditions gardeners dream about. Our gardens flourished, and every bloom felt like a little reminder of how much joy this work has brought me over the years.

After much thought, we’ve decided to scale back on flower production next year. As our kids grow older, we’re realizing how quickly time slips by, and we want to soak up as many family moments as we can before they’re grown and gone. This next chapter is about slowing down a bit, being present, and savoring life’s simple blessings.

Looking back, it’s hard to believe it’s been seven years since we first started the Highland Farmers' Market Michigan Those years have been filled with laughter, early mornings, muddy boots, sunshine, and community — memories I’ll cherish forever. I’ve loved every conversation at the market stand, every friendly face who stopped by for flowers, and every person who supported us through the seasons. Your kindness and encouragement have meant more than words can say. 💛

As we take this step back, I’m so happy to share that Wissner Family Farm will be continuing the tradition of local cut flower production next season. I’ll be passing along four cases of dahlia tubers that I’ve slowly propagated over the past seven years — a little piece of my heart and history going with them. I can’t wait to see what they grow and create with them!

Though I may still pop up at the market now and then (because I could never stay away completely!), I’m excited to move forward into this next season of life — one filled with family, rest, and new beginnings.

Thank you, truly, for every bit of love and support you’ve shown me and our little flower farm over the years. It’s been such an honor to grow for you, share beauty with you, and be part of this wonderful community. Here’s to what blooms next. 🌿💐
