Make sure you have your cold weather prep done!

Make your cold weather preps today! We are forecasting a light freeze for much of Southeast Texas overnight tonight, including a low of 30 degrees at Bush Airport: abc13.com/weather

Last chance to finish your cold weather preps for the light freeze settling in tonight! Your furry friends will appreciate a warm place to sleep tonight, cold-sensitive plants need to be protected, and if you unwrapped the outdoor pipes and brought out the watering hose in last week's 80 degree warmth, winterize those again as well.

We are also expecting a chilly start to the New Year before a major warmup takes hold. Full forecast: abc13.com/forecast

Make preparations for the freeze! 🥶

A Freeze Watch has been issued by the National Weather Service for Late Sunday night through 8AM Monday. Harris county (and the city of Houston) is included in the Watch, as well as Fort Bend, Chambers, Liberty, Montgomery, Waller, Austin, Colorado, Washington, Grimes, and San Jacinto counties. You will want to find a warm place for pets, protect any cold-sensitive plants, and wrap exterior piping. This is a light freeze, not a hard freeze, so interior pipes will be fine. We're forecasting 32 degrees for the city of Houston, but more rural locations and spots north of I-10 could drop into the upper 20s. abc13.com/weather
