Today marks 19 years as Owner of The Silk Thumb, and I’m incredibly proud of how far this small business has come.
I hear people say sometimes, “Julie, you’re so lucky.”
And while I feel incredibly fortunate for many things, my success did not come from luck or land in my lap. I worked damn hard for it. And still do, day in and day out.
It has taken 19 years of hard work, hundreds of decisions every week, taking risks, making mistakes, learning from them, finding great people along the way, and getting back up during the many times I got knocked down.
More than anything, I have believed in myself. I have believed in the products we use, my creativity, and what we can bring to our clients. And I’ve never stopped trying to get better at what I do.
And we’re not slowing down! This fall, we are heading to Virginia for a large out of state installation at the NEW Kalahari Resort!! 🤗
Followed by another out-of-state project in Kentucky. Pretty exciting stuff!
19 years. Woo-hoo! I can’t believe it…and yet, I absolutely can. ❤️
Thank you to everyone who has supported me, hired me, referred me, encouraged me, and trusted me with your spaces over all these years. It means more than you know.
I’m also proud to be a role model for my daughter, and for young girls and women, showing them that they too can own a business, build something of their own, and be successful. That is one of the most deeply fulfilling parts of everything I’ve accomplished.
I have attached some special photos including a photo from this very day 19 years ago, just after I signed the legal paperwork.(2nd photo)
Just wait until year 20!!!
You know I’m throwing a BIG party. 😉🥂
