Hey, local native plant lovers!

Monarch has 25 species of Iowa & Midwest native plants in-stock!

As bird and insect populations continue to precipitously decline, it's never been a more critical time to plant natives. And, they're beautiful, zero-maintenance, and tough as nails!

Some of my favorite new arrivals include,
--Sneezeweed (helenium autumnale),
--New England Aster (symphyotrichum novae-angliae),
--Cardinal Flower (lobelia cardinalis), and
--Side Oats Grama (bouteloa curtipendula)

Many of our native pollinators bloom well into the fall season! Quantities are limited!

P.S. - bet you didn't know native plants actually make perfect container fillers! Whether it's ebullient Black-Eyed Susan, towering Coneflower, ethereal Little Bluestem, or dainty Side Oats Grama - many natives are not only a beautiful choice, but a practical one!

(and, they'll come back next year - in your containers!)

Eastern Prickly Pear Cactus is native to Iowa! These cacti add interest & form to any Iowa landscape and can be grown by gardeners of any interest level!

Emily Bredthauer features the Eastern prickly pear cactus, which in Iowa is found only in a few sand prairie remnants.
